Service & Maintenance

All Mc Lock products are designed and manufactured to require the lowest possible levels of routine maintenance. However, it is recognised that the working life of nearly all door hardware items will be significantly reduced if basic maintenance procedures are not carried out, especially where items are subject to relatively high levels of use.

Product Certification

MC Lock uses the end-to-end encryption concept similar to what is used in online banking. It has secure session creation, AES encryption and hacking attempt prevention mechanisms. Smart MC Lock has security certificates and independent audit reports.

User Guide

Frequently Asked Questions

A: It is for such cases that you can use an electronic key. You create an electronic key, link this key to biometrics and issue it to the user. Now, depending on the electronic key settings, the user can open the door using a fingerprint or mobile phone.

A: The creation and issuance of an electronic key is carried out with the mobile application. Issuing a key involves sending a special link using Whatsapp, Telegram messengers or via SMS. If a person does not have the mobile app installed, they will be prompted to install the app first. When you click on the link, the key is activated.

There are 3 types of keys: (1) permanent, valid until deleted or blocked, (2) temporary, valid from date to date, (3) one-time, valid once.

Depending on the key settings, you may be able to require the identity of the person using the key to be verified using biometric factors.

A: First, McLock works like a classic mechanical lock. You can always open it in the usual way using a mechanical key. Second, check that the lock battery is charged and charge it if necessary. If you have been using the battery for more than 5 years, it may be damaged – replace the battery. If this does not help, contact the service center.

A: The security of a device is determined by several factors. First, it is the presence of built-in sensors for shock, door opening, and lock status. You will always know if someone has opened or is trying to open your door. Second, the most important events are logged. You can always find in the log the information about who, when and in what way opened the door, even if the door was opened with a mechanical key. Third, if you require increased security, you can use electronic keys with linked biometrics: Fingerprint, FaceID, VoiceID (*).

(*) McLock Ellin only supports single-factor authentication using fingerprint. McLock Ellin does not provide information online. Starting with version McLock V2, there is support for multi-factor authentication. For more information, contact your local sales office.

A: If you still have the electronic key, you can continue to open the door using the electronic key. McLock uses a standard cylinder lock mechanism. Contact your local service to replace the cylinder mechanism. The replaced new cylinder mechanism will not affect the operation of the lock.

A: First, losing a phone does not mean that an attacker will be able to access the contents of the phone. Secure your phone with a PIN or fingerprint, as modern versions of Apple and Android recommend. Second, use electronic keys that require biometric authentication.

A: You can manage multiple locks using the free mobile app. However, the free app’s interface is not optimized to work seamlessly across multiple devices. We recommend to use the McLock Mobile Pro version, or use the enterprise version of the McLock Business application.
